Scar Tissue can impact the whole body in ways that are both seen and unseen;
Nervous system - scar tissue may restrict or compress nerve pathways altering sensation, causing pain and muscle weakness
Blood and Lymph system - scar tissue may inhibit the natural flow of blood and lymph supply in the body causing a change in the appearance of soft tissue, swelling and pain
Fascial system - scar tissue may inhibit the natural gliding function of our connective fascial system causing pain and changes in the way we move
Bio-mechanics - scar tissue may alter the natural or optimal functioning of our muscles, tendons and ligaments causing restriction to our range of motion and our ability to move, creating compensatory movement patterns and pain
Integumentary system - our skin, hair nails and glands. Scar tissue can affect the optimal functioning of our sweat glands, the natural protective barrier of our skin and our sensory receptors
Psychologically and emotionally - the look, appearance and feel of scars can have a significant impact on our self esteem, our ability to overcome trauma, our self worth and our mood. Scars can alter how connected or disconnected we feel within our own body, what we wear and our relationships
Energetic system - scar tissue can impede the natural flow of energy, through meridians in Traditional Chinese Medicine for example.

The images on our testimonial page are just some of the examples of possible outcomes for clients from around the world. Please note that not all outcomes are the same. Yes we can release scar tissue tension, and adhesions. Yes we can improve the look and feel of the scar. Yes we can improve your sensitivity, reduce numbness and improve range of motion. However, final results are subjective and personal to you, your scar, your body and your health.
When performed correctly by a qualified accredited practitioner, changes to your scar tissue using MSTR® are permanent.
Hi my name is Peta Marie Lock, I live and work in the Fremantle area of Western Australia in Australia.
Like many, my first experience with MSTR® blew my mind. It was painless, quick and profoundly changing.
As an Ayurveda practitioner, already working with clients in both bodywork and internal health, I was aware of the dramatic effects of scars. I knew a big scar could prevent the immediately proximal tissue from moving and reduce strength through inability to contract. However, I had not quite pieced together the subtle but long-ranging effects of scars on distal range of motion. To see how easily we could make a permanent positive impact excited me deeply and I immediately envisaged learning more and dreamed of becoming an MSTR® instructor someday.
I love educating and empowering others, so this shines through all activities in my practice. Clients are always empowered with tools to help them live their best life. I believe relief from pain is essential to health and it is a pillar of my business.
I have over 25 years’ experience in the natural health and medical industries, with Pathology, Oncobiology and Ayurveda supporting my MSTR® work.
I have been running workshops for the past 5 years and am excited to bring my experience and passion to MSTR®. I feel very honoured to accept the baton from an incredible teacher in Fremantle, WA and sharing the inspirational work of Alastair McLoughlin with others.
I look forward to bringing the fabulous tool which is MSTR® to more bodyworkers, holistic practitioners, exercise specialists, carers, medical practitioners, nurses, even surgeons.
Warmly, Peta.
Hi my name is Jaine Konarik, I live and work in Melbourne, Australia.
I am a Remedial Massage Therapist and Qigong Practitioner. I have my own business Mind Body Kinect and I also work in a multi-disciplinary clinic based in Flemington Victoria.
For many years I was in the corporate world working in banking, finance, advertising and medical supplies. I have run my own businesses, worked in international firms and in small family businesses. After 30 years I realised I needed a change and so I became a Remedial Massage Therapist - what a leap!
And I love it - the opportunity to help others is what motivates me every day. One of the first things I learned when I became a body worker is just how much I didn’t know!! There are so many levels and degrees of connection in the body’s soft tissue I realised very quickly I was missing something in my knowledge base and in my tool box of resources and skills. My desire to help my clients more, to get better outcomes for them and to get results that were whole body focussed led me to MSTR®.
With no level of exaggeration, MSTR® has given me the opportunity to see and experience life changing results for clients. Sometimes the results are physical – better range of motion; sometimes they are emotional – releasing anger and fear over past traumas; and sometimes they are deeply personal – overcoming embarrassment and poor self-image.
I have done (like most of us I think!) lots of courses after completing my Diploma in Remedial Massage and MSTR® is the only course that provides both clinical and holistic outcomes for my clients. It is a skill I use every day and it is a tool that creates permanent changes for my clients. It is so versatile - you can use it for scar tissue release both visible and subdermal, you can use it for the management of Dupuytren's contracture, for plantar fasciitis, for TMJ dysfunction and so much more. The best part is you can see and feel the difference immediately. MSTR® has the clinical evidence to support the claims and hundreds of client testimonials attesting to the fact that MSTR® works.
Being a perpetual student and an instructor, I like to create a learning environment that is relaxed, supportive and practical. I believe that we learn best by doing, practicing, and asking questions till we understand and feel confident. I will support your learning process in any way I can, be that via a live meeting or class, an online video meeting or via phone chat. I want you to succeed and love MSTR® as much as I do, as much as we all do.
To have the privilege and honour of facilitating life changing wellness is humbling and a joy. I look forward to seeing you in a MSTR® class soon.
